THE DREAM TOUR

All youth who participate in The Dream Tour are mentored prior to the tour and for a minimum of a year after The Dream Tour . We stay close to them to make sure that they stay on the path to their dream.  To see how we spend our time with them click here.

All of our youth have a lifetime "membership" at Speak The Dream Foundation and we encourage them to reach out and help others along the way.
In partnership with Trinity Youth  Services, we successfully completed our first annual Dream Tour in June 2011.

The Dream Tour is an amazing, seven(7) day educational trip to New York City and Washington, DC for the purpose of providing the youth that we mentor with opportunity and exposure to actually see their possibilities.  We believe that in addition to mentoring, encouraging and empowering them to dream, we must also SHOW them that their dreams are possible!!  Our goal is to broaden spectrum of thinking, enhance creativity and provide motivation for success as our youth contemplate their future.

From the moment we landed at JFK Airport in New York CIty on June 11, 2011, the energy of the city coupled with our excitement was absolutely electrifying.    Many had never been on an airplane and some of our students had barely travelled outside of their county.   Everything about this tour was an adventure for every person on this trip.

COLLEGES & UNIVERSITIES
We attended college tours and information sessions at New York University, Columbia University, The Juilliard School and The New School of Contemporary Jazz & Music.  These exemplary universities were awe inspiring and opened our minds to new possibilities.

LANDMARKS-NEW YORK CITY
We traveled the city by subway like native New Yorkers and visited these famous and interesting  NYC landmarks:
Broadway, Central Park, Ellis Island,  Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, Harlem, Madison Square Garden, SOHO, Statue of Liberty and Times Square.

LANDMARKS-WASHINGTON, DC
Our one(1) day excursion from New York City to historical Washington, DC was nothing short of incredible.   Here are the historical landmarks that we visited:  Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Washington Memorial, The White House and The State Capitol

RESTAURANTS
Bubba Gumps overlooking Times Square, White Castle, Charley O's, Hard Rock Cafe

This Dream Tour was a resounding success for our mentors and students.  Many of our students returned with the discovery of new interests and talents that were previously untapped.  All of our students realized that the world is a bigger place, is full of possibilities and now their dream CAN and will be a reality...........if they want it.

We've already started planning for next year's 2012 Dream Tour and we hope you will support us in this magical, life changing journey.
